Xeptagon was among the 400 exhibitors at the Hong Kong Fintech Week 2022 (HKFTW2022). The event brought together thousands of industry leaders, policymakers, and fintech innovators to discuss opportunities and challenges faced by the fintech industry. We were able to introduce the best of our fintech products and development services on blockchain, on-chain analytics, and financial data modeling to the attendees and prominent worldwide media while being among the global pioneers in the fintech industry.

The Hong Kong Fintech Week, organized by the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau and InvestHK, held the seventh edition of the flagship event in 2022 from the 31st of October to the 4th of November, at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center and Online. The event gained over 4 million views with over 20,000 attendees, 300 speakers, and 400 exhibitors, with the theme “Pushing Boundaries, Reaping Benefits”. This event opened up infinite business opportunities allowing exhibitors to raise brand awareness and interact with potential customers and investors, by presenting the best of their products or solutions to guests from 85+ economies, with a chance to network and engage with the people driving major changes in investment.

During the Hong Kong Fintech week, we showcased the following completed and ongoing products and services in the fintech domain. These included developments on the Dfinity platform as well as development of private blockchains.

In addition, Xeptagon was also excited to share the following research collaborations with global and local universities in the fintech domain.

1. A framework that is being developed in collaboration with the National University of Singapore as a capstone project, focusing on the development of a lightweight and extensible framework for on-chain analytics. On-chain analytics is an emerging field focused on the examination of the fundamentals, utility, and transaction activity of cryptocurrency and its blockchain data.

2. NFT renting and tokenization project on Avalanche, being developed in collaboration with the University of Moratuwa, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Sri Lanka. Renting an NFT allows one to enjoy its benefits without making the financial commitment of investing in one. Avalanche is a state-of-the-art blockchain to build decentralized software apps on their network.

3. Order flow storage and backtesting framework that is being developed in collaboration with the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, for cryptocurrency and stock market data. Order flow is the list of buy-and-sell orders at different price levels while backtesting is the examination of a trading strategy or trading method’s performance when applied to historical trading data.

There was a multitude of events held throughout the week. Some of the notable events were the Fireside Chats with Yat Siu, Co-Founder & Executive Chairman of Animoca Brands, discussing Web 3.0 in the metaverse and with Sam Bankman-Fried, Co-Founder & CEO of FTX, discussing new technologies and trends, and panel discussions about carbon markets and trading. The areas focused on were blockchains, cryptocurrency, Web 3.0, metaverse, and carbon markets among others.

Xeptagon intends to continuously work on blockchain, metaverse, NFT, financial analytics, and the carbon trading domains (more details here).
